History: The history of India in the preceding period to 1947 is inseparable from the history of the subcontinent that owns this nation.

Neolithic civilization of the third millennium BC C. extended intowhat is now Pakistan and northwest of the Republic of India. TheVedic civilization was extended during the first millennium a. C.especially in northern India, the Punjab and the Gangetic plain.

At the beginning of the period of the Middle Kingdom, northernIndia was dominated by the Aryans, while in southern Dravidianculture was prominent. From the tenth century, the Islamic empires were established in northwestern India, culminating in the Mogul era.
The colonial history of India begins in the seventeenth century and extends to the control of the revolt by the British in 1857.Independence resulted in the division of the British Raj in three states, namely India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
